What is a pinhole camera?
A pinhole camera is a homemade camera that captures the movements of the sun. No light can get into your camera except for through the pinhole, or else it will not work. Light goes through to the pinhole and to the light sensitive paper in your camera. The light sensitive paper captures the picture. What happens to the light as it enters the pinhole camera? Light travels through the pinhole in your camera. It hits the light sensitive paper, creating the picture. What is solargraphy?
Solargraphy is "a photographic method for recording the paths of the Sun." A characteristic of solargraphy that makes it special is that even though you use black and white paper inside the camera, a color photo is produced. The movements of the sun will appear without having to use any chemicals to develop the picture. Why does a solograph have odd colors? The colors in your solargraph are not actually related to what you are shooting. The colors come from silver crystals. |
